First and foremost I must say that I had nothing to do with our team name! Completely my girlfriends idea.
City Chase turned out to be a great way to experience a new city. We are originally from Queens NY and wanted something fun, different, and affordable to do this summer.
Which leads us to Gina finding the city chase website. I needed to be convinced, well actually pushed, into saying yes but I am so glad that she convinced me to do this. It was a great experience.
Everyone involved from the employees, volunteers, to the participants were open and friendly. Great way for people to open up to each other. You would see people with the city chase shirts on and their orange balloons over their heads on the train or on the street and everyone greeted the other participants with a "hi" "where you off to" or advice on a challenge. As I mentioned before, it is a great way to see a city.
We saw and experienced more of Boston thanks to city chase than if we wer! e to have gone on our own. The competitive side of city chase forces you to find your way around a city in order to get to your next challenge, all the while seeing places a "tourist" would want to see. We saw plazas, open air markets, the government center, Fenway, the Prudential center, MIT, and so much more that escapes my memory. And after the days events which are physically tiring nothing beats the upbeat after party.
Everyone involved made sure that the award ceremony was fun and didnt drag on like some of these things tend to do.
While pictures of the days events are projected onto the wall and you can see yourself earning your city chase points.
Add the fact that everyone there has a sense of accomplishment for completing the days tasks, and you have a great party atmosphere in which we met a bunch of people that we will definitely be keeping in contact with, along with looking forward to the next city chase event in our area to which we have already registered.
